Honoring Their Memory: Understanding the Experiences of Black Adults Who Have Lost a Loved One to Police Violence
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Project Summary
The devastating impact of police violence extends beyond victims to their families, friends, and communities. This study seeks to elevate the voices of Black adults who have lost a loved one—whether a family member, significant other, or friend—to police violence. Through in-depth interviews, we aim to better understand the emotional, mental, and social effects of these losses and identify ways to support individuals and communities impacted by police violence. Insights from this study will contribute to research and policy efforts focused on healing, justice, and systemic change.
