Bridging Perspectives: Understanding the Experiences of Black Law Enforcement Officers in the United States
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Project Summary
Research on policing and accountability often overlooks the voices of those within the system. This study seeks to amplify the experiences of current and former Black law enforcement officers across various ranks in the United States. Through in-depth interviews, we aim to explore the barriers and facilitators to improving police conduct and accountability from the perspective of Black officers. The insights gained will help inform future reforms and training initiatives that foster integrity, trust, and community-centered policing practices.
