Breaking the Silence: Examining the Impact of Police Violence on the Well-being of White Adults in the United States

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Project Summary

Recent research has increasingly focused on the prevalence of police violence and its harmful effects on mental and physical health, primarily among marginalized ethnic populations (e.g., Black, Latinx, and Native American communities). However, the experiences of White adults remain underrepresented in literature. This study seeks to fill that gap by exploring the impact of police violence exposure on the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of White adults who have been victim, witnessed in person, or seen incidents of police violence via media report and/or videos.
